PBBV, the first ghost in Gorilla Tag, is an urban legend within the VR game Gorilla Tag. He typically doesn't have long-arms, and plays an audio in a deep, guttural and raspy that resembles the phrase, "PBBV let's go PBBV." However, if you reverse this, it says, "PBBV is watching, PBBV is here." PBBV's color code is Red: 8 Green: 4 Blue: 4, (7 4 3 being made popular by the VR YouTuber, "Jmancurly," and is inaccurate to the actual version.)
To many Gorilla Tag players, PBBV is a ghost. However, realistically, PBBV is more than likely a hacker (or, it might be where as PBBV got so popular that mass amounts of hackers trolled as him, carrying on the belief that he was a hacker to many).
Behavior
PBBV's in-game route that he almost (always) takes.
When he joins the lobby, he will follow the path shown on the image to the right. (Stopping at the siren to make a weird-hand symbol.) Then, he will pace back and forth on the bridge as if he is waiting for someone. As he does this, he will ban and kick many players. PBBV has also shown the ability to make player models flicker in random game textures used for the monke model. These include various color codes, rock monke and lava monke. PBBV also shows the ability to answer yes or no questions with his head. Any other questions that can’t be answered with a simple yes or no (for example: what’s your favorite color) don’t allow PBBV to actually answer you with terms you understand.

Theories
- PBBV is thought to be an acronym and stands for, "PLAYER BOT BETA VERSION." (This is merely a theory, and not entirely confirmed to be why PBBV was named this way. It is only thought of to be an acronym because it makes sense, to why PBBV would be named "PLAYER BOT BETA VERSION".)
- PBBV might be a band of players, or be controlled by several people to move and perform tasks. There is evidence to this, as PBBV's reddit account refers to himself as, "we" during his Reddit conversations toward people, likely meaning PBBV at some point was, or still is a group of players who came together to form one individual ghost.
- This could also mean PBBV could be all of the hackers’ or people who "created" PBBV’s initials. The singular letters in the name could represent the first letter of all of these hackers’ names. This would make a lot of sense, but since it is unconfirmed if PBBV is a band of players, it is merely just a theory.
- PBBV might’ve inspired several ARGs (PumpkinPie99’s ARG revolving around Daisy09 and etc, etc), but it mainly inspired the CHIPPDBANJO ARG to start, solely based on him and his discovery/his existence in the first place.

PBBV was first created on August 6th 2021 by the youtuber chippdbanjo in an ARG-type video format, with her post of radio--connectPBBV. She made various cryptic videos after this, and after Jmancurly reviewed them, they became viral. After this, an account by the name of vrplayer100 posted a reddit post of a creepy salmon colored monkey that he had encountered, with the name PBBV (the original post has since then been deleted). Weirdly enough, vrplayer100 at the time had no idea that chippd's version of PBBV existed, and somehow, they created a similar horror-esque concept with the same name, inspired by the same game. Chippd and vrplayer100 were angry at eachother for a while, for quote on quote, "stealing their idea." When in reality, they somehow created the same concept with the same name.
